Our Story
We met at a bowling alley, where both of us were with separate groups. Kyleigh, the world's clumsiest bowler, accidentally tossed her ball into Josh's lane and had to wait at his lane's ball return. The two got to talking, and next thing you know...
Just kidding. We met on Hinge.
The week prior to our first date, Kyleigh had updated her Hinge dating age range to include guys as young as 25 (literally so brave of her), and the day after she let the young'ins in, she and Josh started chatting. (Josh was 25 and Kyleigh was 28)
Our first date was as romantic as it gets: Canter's Deli at 9:30 AM on a Sunday morning... that also happened to be 9/11.

Kyleigh surprised Josh by taking him to a private animal meet & greet with Poppy the capybara at the Santa Barbara Zoo. Josh started to think about spending forever with the woman he loved (whether that was Kyleigh or Poppy was yet to be determined).

Josh took Kyleigh home to New Jersey for Thanksgiving for the first time. While on the trip, Josh helped Kyleigh fulfill a lifelong dream... getting to see the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree!

Josh moved to Montreal to make a movie (watch MAYDAY on Apple TV, Labor Day 2026!!), and we did a brief stint of long distance...

On Kyleigh's second trip to New Jersey for Thanksgiving, we realized that her paternal grandfather grew up at this church in Millburn, NJ, just four miles from Josh's childhood home, and more importantly, only a block away from Josh's all time favorite deli.

Josh told Kyleigh they were going up to Idyllwild with friends to celebrate his 29th birthday. Little did Kyleigh know, the birthday trip group chat was full of lying friends (they're forgiven), and Josh had arranged a perfect proposal getaway for just the two of us (plus Dewey, of course)!
